Interior Wall Cracks
Cracks in sheetrock or other interior walls often indicate foundation settlement. Often, these cracks appear above doorways and run vertically or horizontally towards the ceiling. While not every interior crack represents a serious foundation settlement issue, they can be a significant sign of foundation failure. If your house is built on a monolithic slab, cracks in sheetrock or wall board can indicate slab settlement.
